Question: How do I copy my pictures from my computer to a CD or DVD?

Answer:

You can just copy the pictures from the hard drive (or other drive) on your computer using one of a couple ways. Windows usually has more than one way to do things.

The first is to open the folder on your computer where the pictures are which probably will be My Pictures or Pictures in Documents or My Documents. Then click on the pictures to choose each of the pictures you want to copy either with the CTRL key choosing each or the Shift key to chose a list when clicking on the last. Then you can right click the high lighted area and click Send To and then click the CD or DVD drive. Then you will get prompts to insert and burn (store) the pictures on the CD/DVD.

The second way is to open the folder on your computer where the pictures are which probably will be My Pictures or Pictures in Documents or My Documents. Then click on the pictures to choose each of the pictures you want to copy either with the CTRL key choosing each or the Shift key to chose a list when clicking on the last. Then you can right click the highlighted area and click Copy. Now open Computer or My Computer and right click on the CD/DVD drive and choose Paste. Then you will get prompts to insert and burn (store) the pictures on the CD/DVD.

With both of the above ways you must determine how many will fit on the CD or DVD and only copy that many pictures. Then remember what was copied and start with next one to burn another CD or DVD.

There are programs you can buy that will allow you to choose a bunch of pictures, send them to CD/DVD and will split them up on multiple CDs or DVDs and prompt when to put next blank CD/DVD in drive.

A free program I have found that does the same thing is CDBurnerXP. It works with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 with both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. You can download it free at http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home This allows you to not worry about how many you can fit on a CD/DVD. There is a checkbox in it I find useful that when you are copying folders of pictures it will not split folders across CDs/DVDs unless necessary which keeps better organized.
